i want to make some fields of table using full-text index, but before that i must to enable sp_fulltext_database on this database,

after batch has finish execute

USE myDB
EXEC sp_fulltext_database 'enable'

i get the error like = The Full-Text Service (Microsoft Search) is not available. The system administrator must start this service.

what this error realy mean, and how to correct this

thanks



1) microsoft search service is running under local sys account

Does your local sys account have admister rights?

hm, in service is checked, start as local system account

in local users and groups, only one is enabled, this is me, i have administrator and all rights on my home pc, but others, like administrator are disabled

i have disabled administrator account in my system

maybe you know some usefull links, because in this thinkgs i something dont understand, i must something to read, but what exactly ?

well you either give the local account sys admin rights or start the service using your account.

Whatever account you use will have to have permissions to start services.

at this moment i'am in panic, readeed all installation steps about 2000 mssql server i have noticed that each installation manual is different, and i realy dont know how to normally install mssql 2000 server,

some minutes ago i have deinstalled my mssql server, and all about installation i have readed from microsoft.com, at this moment i cannot access sql server...

i really try to get from you help, help is like = give me please a link where will be described normall mssql server installation

i am newbie to mssql server administration and some things i cannot understand, because all installation steps that i have downloaded are different.

:(

one of my problem during installation is, that i cannot use user account that i have created in windows, mssql installation always write to me that i must to check account, i realy dont undestand why ?

When you installed sql server did you specify mixed mode login
(SQL and Windows Integration). ?
