It's easy to point & click to make Source/Destination links, but then you have to work with each link. I'm working with some medium to moderate sized databases that may be importing a record 850 to 2000 characters long, and may contain 400 or more fields.
2. Do you know any way to speed DTS up? I'm getting 2.5 Million imported records/hour on the 850 char record mentioned above. I've gone through the MicroSoft site and done everything in the FAQ. Even a small file (400 or 500 million records) takes forever! Does it run faster from command line? or as a command from SQLAnalyzer? Any Ideas? The ActiveX/VB environment makes handling Data easy. Numerics & or Multiple Date Formats to SQL Date Formats, Handling Voids, Blanks, or Non-ANSI Chars, and every other Error condition I've run into, and not that I don't like a good long nap, but... I've even tried tweaking the InsertCommitSize, but no luck.
