A alert is setup to indicate the completion of job thro net.
After the completiion of job ,the alert is not showing up.
But in the job history, it shows that the ooperator is notified.
Wht is the possible reason for this?

Thanx...

perhaps there is something enabled on the operators machine that is suppressing the alert. Although i confess to not knowing what it may be. What form does the alert take ? Net message ? Email ? Firework display ?

Do you need some windows service to be running on the recipient PC for the message?

You must be running NT on client machine and the messenger service also be enable with netbios of tcp if contacting client of the internet or IP instead of name.

Had to write a TCP netbios messenger, didn't ever want to that much about a protocol just wanted to program.

The net message is used for alerting.

I am trying on the server, where the setup is done.

sqlserver 2000 is used on the server.
