How does one take in account of times with hundreth of seconds? Is it possible? What sort of field should be used to store this? Time fileds only go to hh:mm:ss... in text? Create an hour, minutes, second and hundreth of second fields?

The datetime datatype is accurate to on three-hundredth of a second. Read more in Books Online.

Like Jay said, look at the DateTime Datatype and you'll also want to look at GetDate() which I usually use to fill the DateTime fields.
