I am currently pursuing my MCP Certification through exam 70-229 (Designing and Implementing Databases with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition) and I was wondering where to get the best prep books and/or practice tests. Names of books, sites, or anything would be a great help...Thanks in advance.

Practice Exams: http://www.transcender.com/Transcender exams are the absolute best, IMHO and IMNSHO. Get the fullest version they offer, I think they have a Flash-card type that's not as comprehensive. If they have 2 versions of the same exam and one is more expensive, get the more expensive one. Most of the books available are pretty good, but you should avoid anything that uses the terms "boot camp" or "21 days to MCDBA" or something like that. I'd even suggest avoiding the Exam Cram series but others have said they're actually pretty good. I've felt that Osborne does very well with their books, I don't have their 229 book though.STAY AWAY FROM BRAINDUMP SITES! God, I hate even brining it up because it will spark all kinds of debate. But here it is anyway: if you want to simply pass the exam without learning anything, then braindumps will do that. If you want to learn and understand SQL Server, avoid them at all costs. Study and take the Transcender exams. Don't take the actual exam until you can pass the Transcender at least 3 times in a row. Don't even schedule the real exam until you've passed the Transcenders 3 times. You can do a forum search for "certification" and get more input on this.Good luck!

Thanks for the quick response, I'll be sure to check out that site...thanks. Have you(or anybody else) heard anything about MeasureUp or Self Test Software? They are the practice tests that MicroSoft recommend.

I'm with Rob on this one, Transcender exams are superb, you actually get the flash cards free at the moment with the proper exams (of which you get 3). They are always spot on as far as the format and type of questions you get in MS exams. I would certainly recomend them.HTHJasper Smith
