| hai,My sql server machine has net connection.What happens is ,in the Enterprise manager when i tried add another server in the network, it started scanning in the port 1433, and i started getting some abuse mails.with my ip and destination ip something like that.have anybody faced this problem.How to avoid this.cheers |

| Never put your database server on the net and even better a Microsoft OS should never be given a static internet ip.For your imediate need if the other server has a non-DHCP ip enter the ip and not the server name. |
