Microsoft released another security update for SQL Server 2000. That makes two this month. This one addresses (1) Unchecked Buffer in SQL Server 2000 Database Consistency Checkers (DBCCs) and (2) SQL Injection that occurs in two stored procedures used in replication. It's a cumulative update that needs to be installed on top of service pack 2. Article Link. |

I've applied this patch to one of our test servers, and noted the following:- The version on the patch download file is 8.00.0667_enu.exe, but after applying the patch, my server is showing 8.00.665
- These security rollups are getting more complicated to apply
- The file dates on several of the patch files are older than file dates from the previous patch
Anybody else noticed these things?Any problems with applying the patch?Anyone getting annoyed by these two-a-month security patches?-- monkey |
