Aaron writes "Hi,

Where is a good place to find out what the "things" in an exection plan are, and whether they are good or bad in SQL2000?

I repeatedly get clustered index scans and seeks and bookmarkup lookups, i know what some of them are, but dont know if they are good or bad or if they need attention.

many thanks"

Do a search in Books On Line for any specific definitions you have questions on. To get you started on what to look for...
table scan =
index scan =
index seek =

Take a look at "Graphically Displaying the Execution Plan Using SQL Query Analyzer" in BOL. It has short descriptions of all the physical operators used by SQL Server.
