Hi everybody

I have small doubt query on Sql Server

I wrote like this query in Query analyser.I created one table named dd"
create table dd(dt date/time);

After that when i insert this query
"insert into dd values('')"

Then i get the result date "1900-01-01 00:00:00.000".So what is the reason this date will come ..

I think we've had this on the forum a couple days ago. date time fields cannot contain blanks. either a null or a date... inserting a blank inserts 1900-01-01 00:00:00.000

ways to get around this... instead of inserting a blank, insert a null.

Put a trigger on the table that formats the date inserted to something other then blank

third, don't insert a blank into it ;)
