| Usually yes, but it may be mitigated if you create an indexed view. I normally avoid views as much as possible, particularly if they involve complex joins. |

| While views do consume resources like all queries, they may be appropriate for your environment. They're great at linking things together and allowing users to query against the view. They also allow you to hide columns if people aren't supposed to see certain fields.We user report writers against SQL and I always have them against views. |
