tried looking up the BOL ? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa260631%28SQL.80%29.aspx

Don't use timestamp.
From SQL 2000 BOL
quote:
A future release of Microsoft® SQL Server™ may modify the behavior of the Transact-SQL timestamp data type to align it with the behavior defined in the standard. At that time, the current timestamp data type will be replaced with a rowversion data type.

also refer to SQL 2005 BOL on timestamp
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms182776%28SQL.90%29.aspx

you should use integer or decimal with identity instead
