| Hi,i am new to sql 2000, i want to setup a automatic email from sql server agent as i have setup into sql 2005,but i have read some article which are saying u can setup email on 2000 only untill unless u have outlook install on your machine.. few of my clinet don't hv outlook install on their machines. is there any way i can setup email on sql server without installing outlook on their machines. |

| At my previous job, we had SQL 2000 servers. We had to install Outlook for notifications to work. So from my own experience, Outlook is required on SQL2K box. |
