Can I install SQL server 2005 developer edition on Win XP home edition? (SP2). I am looking for the DB server as well. (Not only the client tools)

2. Where can I purchase a SQL server 2005 dev edition copy online ?

Yes you can install SQL 2005 dev edition on XP w/ SP2. That's exactly what I have on my laptop. I have the database engine and the client tools.

You can purchase the dev edition at Amazon, Microsoft site, and various other places.
