plz tell me can we use sql server 2005 with Visual Basic.net 2003 or not. i mean sql server 2005 is compatible with vb.net 2003 ?

.net is optimized for ms sql.

Bear in mind both of them are Microsoft products. And .net has a couple of data namespaces optimized for the type of db you are using. For sql server its

System.Data.SqlClient

Also read up on ADO.NET basics

And in visual studio, you can create, modify and manipulate your databases directly in visual studio.
