However, the DTS package has 18 steps and only the last 10 are running successfully. The first 8 are bombing with an error of the Access file is opened exclusively by another user. The 18 steps are composed of 9 create table steps and 9 copy data into those tables steps. There is absolutely nothing special about the first 8 steps, they are essentially creating 4 tables and copying data into them (same as the last 10 steps). All steps are working with the same Access database. Does anyone have any idea why these steps are bombing? Like I said, the error message from the DTS package claims that it cannot open the Access database because something has an exclusive lock on it. Then, it cannot copy the data because the table doesn't exist.
