| power returns the same datatype as the 2 which is inttryselect power(convert(bigint, 2), 31)==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.DTS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy. |

| On SQL7.....because bigint is not a 'known' datatype.Are you mixing sql/vb/c++ datatypes? |
