How can I lock a field in a table?Problem: In Client/Server Data base design environment, i have to lock a particular rows, specific column only!
Eg:- One Row-field of a count control table

A multi company, multi user sales management system - in each company they have different sales counters, reciepts and payment counters. In such situations i have to generate unique Bill Numbers, Reciept/Payment voucher number etc. from a Count control table which countain multiple rows and Company ID as the primary ID. Here each column in every row will be accessed by multiple users. What will be the optimised locking solution for the problem?
I would like to get a solution for lock a particular column of a paricular row?
