Hi everyone,

I'm trying to install sql server 2012 evaluation(64 bit) in my windows 7 os, But i'm unable to. It is showing that "the operating system on this os does not meet the minimum requirements of the sql server. Could any one please help me in this issue to be solved.

Hi Ganesh Kandi,

Have you verified that your server meets the minimum requirements for SQL Server 2012? Specifically, Processor, Memory, Drive Space, and OS?

Here is a little more specific information on the requirements for the evaluation copy:

Supported Operating System
Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, Windows Vista Service Pack 2
32-bit systems
Computer with Intel or compatible 1GHz or faster processor (2 GHz or faster is recommended.)
64-bit systems
1.4 GHz or faster processor
Minimum of 1 GB of RAM (2 GB or more is recommended.)
2.2 GB of available hard disk space

Hello Steve Shurtz,

I have all the hardware and software requirements for the sql sever 2012 and i have tried the installation process in another system with the same requirements of mine then i was succeeded. Previously I have sql server 2008 in my system. Is there any problem with uninstalling the sql server 2008.
