| I'm going through Rob's book, and I love his style.I was using the MSPress "SQL SERVER 2000 Database design and Implementation" book before and it was drier than an old dead bone that's been sitting in the desert for 150 years. I sort of thought text had been created by some sort of A.I. script. Thanks,Kevin |

| I think the only decent MS Press book is Inside SQL Server. The others are informative, but just not as good. |

Very good book indeed. Although I tried to discourage you from spending your hard earned dosh on too many SQL books, this one is a must for everyday use. I always have it by my side and it has pretty much everything you need to know to be a successful SQL Server developer.------------------------------------------------------------------------------I enjoy using SQL Server but I am not part of the Microsoft fanboy club! NEVER!! |

| Be ye warned !Rob's book reads more like a novel than a reference work. I'm really enjoying it - I like stuff like this:"We will discuss a few situations where you can't avoid using the system tables, but in general, you should consider them to be evil cannibals from another tribe and best left alone."Kevin |

Mention made of books, and RobVolk post's, and doesn't mention "The Guru's Guide to Transact SQL" by Ken Henderson ??? What madness is this ? Rob - are you alright ? *grin*An excellent book, btw ... Rob's incessant being right made me eventually think that mayeb , just maybe, the Guru's guide would be a good acquisiton, and so far, so good!CiaO*##* *##* *##* *##* Chaos, Disorder and Panic ... my work is done here! |
