| TestData.com Announces Release of Web's First Data Generation ToolOKLAHOMA CITY, June 1 – TestData.com, LLC today announced the debut ofits online data generation tool at TestData.com. David Whitaker, founder of TestData.com, launched the website after two years indevelopment.Data generation tools allow software developers to create large setsof test data, which can then be used to stress test theirapplications. The types of data created can range from simple addresslists to complex datasets modeled after database schemas. Traditionally, these tools have existed in software form. TestData.com is the first and only web-based tool of its kind."The launch of TestData.com marks a new age in data generation," saysWhitaker. "Since we are on the web, we can offer users a much lessexpensive alternative to software-based data generation tools. Previously, you would need to buy expensive standalone software togenerate your data. Now, you pay only for the data you need, whichfor the vast majority of people amounts to saving hundreds ofdollars."Cost Benefits and Feature SetTestData.com decided to bring the data generation market to the webfor a number of reasons. First, the least expensive standalonesoftware tool available was $600. TestData.com found that they couldoffer a significant price advantage over these products byestablishing an average per-generation cost of $10.Another benefit of TestData.com is its large collection of presetdata, which users can employ as building blocks to create their ownrealistic-looking data. The website has hundreds of preset types tochoose from, including names, addresses, company names, zip codes, objects, and more. "Because this data is stored on the website,"Whitaker says, "we can build up a repository of data larger than anysoftware product can feasibly package onto CDs or DVDs, which meansyour data will be more meaningful than any product on the market." The website also offers users the ability to upload custom data foruse in their data generation projects.About TestData.com, LLCTestData.com, LLC developed the first and only web-based datageneration tool. TestData.com enables software developers to createvirtually any amount of test data, from a hundred rows to millions, for use in application testing. Why are you against such a tool? Is it a bad thing or have you bought it previously?I have to say that I wouldn't need such a tool. Pension Admins here provide enough crap as it is. It's like, Hey Admin dude, you got the data for those 20 members from last week?Er, hold on a sec, let me send you a spreadsheet.... and when you get it, it's got thousands of records except for those that you need. That's my test data for the week sorted out then! |
