I have a SQL Server 7.0 database that my application accesses thru OLE DB. Every time it makes a connection to the database, it passes the server name, username, password, and database name in the connection string.

Works great.

Now, I need to make the app run on another server (SQL Server 2000) and the administrator wants me to use Windows authentication. How does this work? Do I leave the username and password fields blank in the connection string, thus causing SQL Server to use Windows authentication instead?

oConn.Open "Provider=sqloledb;" & _
"Data Source=myServerName;" & _
"Initial Catalog=myDatabaseName;" & _
"Integrated Security=SSPI"

More information on connecting with Windows Authentication is provided in KB article #247931
