| AARON writes "I have windows 2000 server professional edition newly installed, and I would like to run SQL server 7 as I have it on my Microsoft Backoffice disks, but I am told upon install that "SQL server doesnt run on this version of NT, and that only the client components can be installed." I am very new to SQL server, as we have just upgraded from our mySQL, and I don't even know how to connect to the remote server that has been set up. I hear that enterprise manager is the way to go, but am having no luck trying to connect remotely, to pull my information down. Can you help? Can I not connect because I only have client components and not server components? Is there any way around this, without having to buy something else compatible with windows 2000, or changing operating systems?" |
