| I want to install SQL Server on my Windows 2K PC so I can test my web app before it goes live on an external host.(I think) I have the Personal Edition at the moment, but (I think) I need to Standard Edition for my purposes. However, when I try to install the CD, although there is the option to install the Standard Edition, I get a message "You can't install the Standard Edition from this disc on an NT4 machine..." (from memory). This doesnt make it clear whether I've just got the wrong disc - or the wrong operating system.Any ideas? |

| I have that same set, I think it is quite old and possible made before Windows 2000 and that is why it is not recognising it.When you load it and check the "Prerequisites" you will notice that it only has info on Win98 and NT4.... I think you will need a newer version or try the MS site for a patch?Cheers,Gavin |
