Bernie writes "How do you get the Remote access working on an exe and odbc program with the same name. "ABC.exe" does not work remotely)

explanation:

I have an exe ABC.exe and ABC OLE DB ( Same name for both exe and ODBC)

When we try to accces ("ABC.exe) througt remote desktop we get kicked out.

When we RUN "ABC.exe" both from the RUN and clicking on the ICON in the THe Program Files work.

Conclusion

This problem occured afted we upgraded to SQL 2000 from SQl 7.0.

P.S. The "GEMS ODBC DB" works from Internet Explorer--this is a work arounf but we do not want to use IE for their internal client! IE is fine for external clients.

In[ortant note: we are also running terminal services on out Windows 2000 server. We have updates Windows 2000 to SP3 and SQL 2000 to SP1."

Do you have any diagnostics available to you from the "abc" executable? Tell us what troubleshooting you have tried to come to your conclusion that the SQL Server 2K upgrade is the culprit.
