| The operating system needs to be Windows 2000 not NT4 for NEWID() to generate random results. Is the OS NT4? |

OK,,thanks.The OS on the remote SQL7 box (does not work) is NT4, OS on local dev box (works with local db) is NT5(2000).So, have i got it right? NEWID needs an OS of 2000 on THE BOX HOSTING THE DB!!YES??thanks, al |
