Hi and thanks in advance

I installed MSSQL2005 on a Vista Home premium machine. Everything went well and reported no errors. After opening the SQL Server Management Studio I was presented for the first time with the "Connect to Server" Dialog

Server Type = Database Engine
Server Name= (Here is Blank)
Authentication = Windows Authentication

I typed my computer name in the Server Name but it says it can connect
Why I get no Server Name?

Thanks for the help.

Best regards,
Carlos

try local also. also did you install database engine or only client tools alone? probably worth checking in your surface area configuration manager.
