I understand from BOL that there is a way to trace execution of stored procedures for the purpose of troubleshooting, but what they describe in BOL is not very clear.

Could anyone point me to a good online "tutorial" of how one accesses and uses QA or other tools in EM for debugging stored procedures? Note: I do not have Visual Studio available.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

I was looking through the tutorial on Profiler. I can see where you would use it to improve performance, but what do you do if you want to "test" the value of variables during a process?

It seems like there was a debugger built into Query Analyzer, but I cannot seem to get it to work.
