| Jaddu writes "Hi everybody, We have a production database in sqlserver 2000 on windows 2000 with 1 gb memory. We have one procedure which will find out least price among 5 suppliers of 50000 products. When i run a procedure from sql analyser it was taking only 3 minutes where as when i put the same procedure in job schedule it was taking 40 minutes. Could any one suggest me what was the problem. Thanks in advanceJaddu" |

| I don't think there is a problem. When Transact SQL runs in jobs it always takes longer (a lot longer) in my experience. If you post the transact SQL code someone here could look at it to see if there is any way we can write it more efficiently."DBAs are overpaid and their jobs are easy...heck, I could do it."-Quote from a former boss who calls often for help and speaks to my voice mail :) |
