| HIiiCould someone please explain the following?I have a database with and SQl2000 back end and MS Access adp as the from end.Do i've to install any of the Sql2000 sstandard edition on the clients machine? If yes, what do i've to install?What's the difference between Sql 2000 Standard edition and Sql2000 persoanl edition?Thanks so muchmarlon |

| Go here:http://www.microsoft.com/sql/evaluation/features/default.aspThere is a link on that page that will list the various features of each edition. There are other links under the Product Information menu on the left that also clarify the differences between editions.The most you should have to install on the client machines are the latest MDAC drivers, either 2.6 or 2.7 (2.7 is required for WinXP). You can get them here:http://www.microsoft.com/data/download.htmLook for and RTM or SP1/SP2 version of the MDAC drivers, download and install them on the client computer.If you want to you can also install the "Connectivity Only" components from the SQL Server CD. Just do a regular install and progress through the screens until you see the option for it. It's probably just as easy or easier to just download them from the web site though, and they'll also be more up-to-date. |
