| I have SQL Native Client installed as my ODBC driver and I cannot see SSIS in BIDS.I have changed from Locan System to NT AUTHORITY\Local in the Services but I still cannot see SSIS.Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any suggestions for me to try next? |

| Yes I did should I try to reinstall it again?I can see the SSIS service running and it says that it is available. |

| I see BIDS and only the Reporting Services Project Wizard, and Reporting Services ProjectI also see Visual Basic, Visual C#, Visual C++, Visual J#, Other Project Types. |

it seems like you've not installed ssis and ssas (or installation wasnt succesful). try reinstalling them. |

I tried reinstalling it again and here is the message I get:Name: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Integration ServicesAllowed Action: Maintain (Action is only available from Add or Remove Programs)Reason: Cannot maintain product, to maintain the product go to Add or Remove ProgramsSo when I go to Add Remove Programs there is not much you can do there except to read from the CD again.Anything else? |

| I have reinstalled BIDS and SQL Server I now get the following error message:an error has ocurred while trying to establish a connection to the server. When connecting to the SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default Settings SQL server does not allow remote connections. (provider" Named Pipes provider, error 40: - Could not open a connection to SQL Server (Micrsoft SQL Server error no:2).What do I need to do next? Has anyone else out there seen this message and what did you do to correct it? |

Tara thanks now one more dumb question.What should I use to edit the machine.config file? Is it safe just to use notepad like the good ole days or what do you or others recommend? |
