bydefaut arguments are passed by ByVal in other language but in visual basic default is byref what is the reason ? can any body explain.thanks in advance

Ummmmm...

A. Not sure what that has to do with SQL Server
B. What's the big deal? If you need to pass something ByVal, just indicate that in your VB code

In fact, it's a good idea to always specify ByRef and ByVal even if that's the default... helps avoid those errors where you forget how it's being handled.
