What are the restrictions governing the use of MSDE. Can I install it in my home for learning purposes? Is there still a limitation on the size of the SQL Server Database with MSDE?Where is the best place to download it from?Is there a SQL Server 2005 version of MSDE?If yes, does it include all SSIS and related features that the enterprise SQL Server contains? Thanks |

Yes you can install MSDE at home for learning purposes. I believe the database size limit for MSDE is 2 GB or 4 GB. You can download it from the MS site. In SQL Server 2005, the free version is called SQL Express. You will find the answers to all of your questions on the SQL Server page at the MS site.Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/Database maintenance routines:http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/archive/2004/07/02/1705.aspx |
