We are undergoing an audit of our environment for SQL. A scanning tool detected SQL installations throughout our desktops and servers. However, the scanning tool is making mistakes. The tool can't detect version and edition of SQL and it is detecting SQL Express as the real version of SQL. I'm spot checking now to figure it out but it is a slow process. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to determine version or differentiate between free and legitimate SQL. Are there differences is the install paths, processes running, ports, registry, etc.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
