Good day to all of you.

Is there a store procedure to get the field description?
Or is there a way to get the field description?

Check for sp_columns in BOL .

you can also query information_Schema.Column view .

I already tried to check sp_columns, but the field description was not available.

Did you tried Information_Schema.Column view. what do you mean by field description? . if you are looking for its datatype length and stuff. Information_schema.column view will help you.

Thanks Merkin. You've got it right...
I saw the script once here, but I couldn't find it again. That's why I post a message.

I will be needing this in creating dynamic reports. Instead of Typing the column description in the program. I'll just get it in the table info. So that whenever I change my fields. I have no problem assigning its description in the program..

thanks again.
