You can click on your name (it should be a hyperlink) towards the top right side of the page and you can see all your posts. There is also a Search functionality here.

Thanks for responding Dinakar,
Sorry for being a pain here....... On the RHS of the screen i am seeing my name next to the logout word. But I am NOT able to click on my name to see all my post?
It seems very stranage that here isn't a specific button that is clearly labeled and located in a prominent position for this purpose?

oops. sorry I thought I was posting in the SSP forum. You can use the search function to the left side of the page under SQL Server Forums header. You can enter your username in the "Search By Member" field to look for posts by a specific member.

Wow.....that is very long winded!!!

For anyone else in the future here are the steps.
1. Go to the forums at http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/
2.Then Click on "Members" under the "SQL Server Forums" heading. Tip it is located more on the LHS of the screen.
3. Enter your username in the "For" section and click "GO".
4.Now click on your username under the "Member Name" heading.
5. Then under the "Basics" area of your "User Profile" navigate to "Total Posts"
6. Under "Total Post" click on "Find all Non-Archived Post by"

Last Question Dinakar. Where would i find my Archived posts?

Thanks for all your help Dinakar!!
Personally I just find websites should be as user friendly as possible!! It might seem rudimentary for the people who visit here on a regular basis but for people now visiting it’s a different story.

But I am the new kid on the block so I guess I shouldn't be complaining. Thanks again, much appreciated.

Thanks Kristen for Jumping in. I actually found that out myself when trying to navigate around the site. That even proves my point more...... but enough on that now.

I saw in another post you reached the 12,000 post mark. Let me also take this opportunity to congratulate you..... Keep up the good work.

"That even proves my point more"

Well as you say the regulars, like me, know the drill, but I find that intuitive:

"I wonder what else Dallr posted?" so I click on the Dallr's UserID link, and there is a link to all Dallr's posts ...

Yes, but picture yourself as a new poster would you have known that easily from the current design?..... I cannot speak on your behalf but i think the answer would have been no. I personally hang out on this site www.utteraccess.com which i think is absolutely brilliant in to many ways to mention. If you get a change take a look at the functionality and feel of the site and you will get and idea of what i am talking about.

Nevertheless, I am here at SQLTeam which looks like it has very knowledgable members posting here. So all other issues will fade in the background and in time i will learn the ropes....

"Yes, but picture yourself as a new poster would you have known that easily from the current design?..... "

Indeeie, but I figure if I wanted to know something about you I will click on user UserID ... and from there I can see your other posts.

I think if I asked the question "Where are Dallr's Other Posts" I might try looking for some menu option for "Find user's posts" or somesuch, and indeed there is no such menu option.

However, if I was interested in knowing more about you, checked out your profile, maybe then I would read your posts to get better knowledge of you.

So, perhaps it depends a bit on the purpose.

The other thing is that this forum uses Snitz, not the most common forum software, but I certainly see it on my travels, so anyone familiar with Snitz will know how to find a user's posts (so perhaps that ability is not restricted JUST to the old regulars here!).

New Users can ask, of course ...

Beyond that its mostly personal preferences and opinions ... for me the variable layout of the forum posts (on www.utteraccess.com) makes it very hard to see subjects and people. Then once I get into a specific thread the mini-font for the UserID makes it hard for me to see whether the post is from (for example) someone I know. The "header" for each post exceeds the "content" by a huge amount too, so lots of scrolling is required to read the flow of the thread (where here it takes up 90% of the content part of the page, so it is easy to read the thread).

If I click on a UserID one of the options I then get is "Show all user's posts" - that is the same as here, so pretty familiar!

"Search the database" for 'Dallr' brings up a list of posts (presumably yours!). 66 results are listed

The advanced search has the option to use the UserID as a criteria (as does the Search here on SQLTeam, although here you also have to put in one, or more, words to search for). Searching for UserID='Dallr' only brought up 2 results (dunno why not 66 ?, maybe there was a date range which I hadn't spotted).

Personally I can't see any advantage, but I do see several things that are "different" and would thus take me time to become familiar with.

But no doubt we could argue and discuss this until the cows come home ...

Well, i just gave the link as reference not expecting you to comment. This shows that you are detailed in how you go about things and that is most times a good thing.

I can rebutt some of your comments but i don't think it would be add any value to this thread....

Don't know why you only returned 66 results when i have around 1600 or thereabouts i think. But post count matters little at least to me it does. AT the bottom of this link you can see "all users posts" that should be more accurate.

http://www.utteraccess.com/forums/uauserpro.php?Cat=&User=67878&what=search&Ze=&Zf=&Zg=0&Zw=&Zh=&Zl=a&where=a&Zu=67878&Zd=l&Zn=&Zt=3e8&Zs=&Zy=&Zp=

Well,I guess i would be seeing you around this forum. Nice chatting Kristen, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
