This is a bit of a continuation from my previous post (http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=75744). Since my question is veering more and more away from the original purpose of that topic, I thought it would be best to start a new one.

My question now is whether my habit of trying to centralize logic is actually a detriment to the efficiency of the database. As you may have read, I have one main view that does a lot of the thinking. Much of the code in the application uses this view in different ways to compute the values that it needs. This allows me to develop quickly and make changes to the core computations without any hassle of changing it in a bunch of places. This has worked well for me in the world of application development; but I'm worried that this habit is affecting the performance of the database. Does anybody have any opinions about this?

Here's a link to the view: http://jannable.com/vwProject.zip

I localize all of the business logic in the backend, wheter it be views or sprocs or a combination of both

If you have to write overly complicated views, then it may be that your database needs normalization
