Hi I am analyzing the possibility to add some functionality to the Enterprise manager but first of all I need to know if it is possible, Im searching but things are not very clear, for example Im reading about WMI and WQL, for now its just a matter of adding a couple of action buttons additional to the ! run icon so when the user clicks on them a table is produced in a specific database containing the data of the query, like if he used the "into" command.

Hope somebody can give me some guidance,

thanks

Now there's a thought...why didn't I think of that sooner

I don't think EM is extensible. SSMS, however, is (sort of). SSMS is based on the VS shell, which is highly extensible.

Here are a couple examples:

http://www.sqldbatips.com/showarticle.asp?ID=78 (for adding an external tool to the "tools" menu)
http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/enisey.asp (for adding context menus to Object Explorer - this one uses a lot of unsupported apis in SSMS :)
