BACKUP DATABAE YourDatabase
TO DISK = 'F:\Backup\SomeFile.BAK'
WITH INIT

Does that work?

I am gettingthe following error:
*****************************************************
Msg 3007, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
The backup of the file or filegroup "sysft_ccsIndexCatalog" is not permitted because it is not online. BACKUP can be performed by using the FILEGROUP or FILE clauses to restrict the selection to include only online data.
Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

the above database was created on sql server 2000 and recently we have upgraded to sql server 2005.

Thank you Tara.

So have you looked into why sysft_ccsIndexCatalog is not online?

I guess that this is some kind of full text index that hasn't been moved across to SQL 2005 with the rest of the database.

Or something.
