| Clinton writes "HiI am working with a SQL Server 2000 database and I need to find out what is the best way for a user (teacher) not experienced with database management to be able to add records to a student database. In MS Access I know that a Data Access page on the web would be the best way to go but the only experience I have in SQL Server is having taken a class. I notice that there is not a “forms” builder in SQL Server and short of creating a form and making it web-accessible I am lost. Are there any nice built-in tools for creating a user interface for adding records? I am experienced in HTML as well as .NET, .ASP and .PHP but I don’t know where to begin in SQL Server. If you guys have answered this before please forgive me. I did try to look through the past posts but didn't see anything." |

| Umh...I don't mean to be rude here but how can you be experienced in .net/asp/php and not know how to add records to a database? Anyway, your answer is ADO (ActiveX Data Objects) which is sort of a middle tier between the frontend (i.e. web interface) and the backend (the database). I would recomend http://www.w3schools.com/asp/asp_ado.asp to get you started...actually w3schools have pretty much all you need to get going on something like this.
