Hi,

Is it possible to get SQL Server to log lock (e.g. index and row) acquisition and release, then execute a transaction (several SQL statements) and find out what locks where acquired and released and when?

For example, find out how many rows an UPDATE statement locked, did the locks escalate, etc.

Thanks,
Anton

Try the profiler.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
