| hi,i am a novice in terms of SQL server.I am trying to build an advanced search page for my shopping cart application(web application). The behaviour i would like to achieve is :user can select from 3 drop down boxes.drop down box # 1 )Meterial : Gold, Silver, Broonze.onece the user has selected the meterail, then he can further refine his search by selecting Size(2,3,4,5...)After selecting size, lastly he can further refine the search by selecting type : (ring,pendant,bangle,....)Now, i am trying to achieve this behaviour by a query like this.select * from table where meterial like '%xxx%' AND size like '%xxx%' AND type like '%xxx%';but its not working...i just have a clue that i might have to use embedded queries..Any help is appericiated.Regards |

| U can use the selection of combo box as a parameter to a Stored Procedure and get the results as returnI don't find any benefit or need of using "Like" clause here. however, u can refer to Books Online to read more about "Like"Srinika |
