Silvana writes "Hi all,
I have the following weird situation.
I must update a "text" column in my mssql db with a string that is more than 10000 character long.
I know that "text" is able to store up to 2Gbyte of data, but what is happening?
that when i excecute the query (in PHP, using the odbc_exec function), my poor Apache got stuck!!!
and afterwards, i am not even able to access that field (i mean Apache go nut again).
i have also tried to use varchar (8000), but it cut or modify my string.

Have you ever experienced something like that? Any suggestion?"

Silvana,
Can you post the query you're trying to run?
Maybe the odbc_exec function has a limit on the number of characters in the SQL statement you're trying to run.
