How can I define the data type on a column in a SQL table so that it will prevent others to review the content of the data? For exampe information like "password" and it will appear something like "*******" in the table. Is it possible to achieve this in SQL or any opther ways you may suggest? Thanks.

read up on encryption. You probably need a third party tool see. www.activecrypt.com
