| HiI need to do an ERP master file update and I neeed to take on values from our legacy systems.I need to stored values for out ETLs.I need a Datatype that will be able to handle the following value and not change it to it a power format and the length should be 16 characters long and 2 decimal places. That's the easy partI also need the value to be able to handle a negative sign in frontSo I'm looking for something to handle: "-8745166394.69" and not convert it to something like this "-8.324e004" (just an example)REgardsNThe revolution won't be televised! |

| A number that is 16 "characters" long? Do you mean digits, or do you also include the "." and the "-" in you length?Whatever. SQL Server does not store data in "power" format, though your interface may display it that way. You should store you data in a datatype like DECIMAL(16,2). |
