... in connection string
In VS.Net 2003 where can I set this per project/solution/component etc?

"it's definitely useless and maybe harmful".

Are you referring to the Application Name in the connection string?

You'll have to modify the connection string each time you change components and make a database connection in order for the Application Name to come across. Or do you have multiple connection strings that connect to different data sources?

It's multi project,
multi datasource,
multi dataaccess component.

It's easy to do a find on connection strings and include application name. Until I forget one.

Using a Profiler filter set on application name.
Maybe there is a better filter but I got used to
it like this.

Funny how after posting here I haven't forgot to put "Application Name" in the connection string. It's like some kind of internal thought mechanism or "rule" has been invented.
Kind of a internet version of the physical sciences' "measurement changes what is being measured."

"The act of posting changes that what is being posted about."

...if it's on the Internet it's real.

Thanks
