| Is there a way to stop the genereated error message description from being displayed and only my custom description displayed instead along with the output of a select statement?IF @@Error <> 0 BEGIN RAISERROR('MULTIPLE OPEN ORDERS FOR SAME ITEM!.',16,1) SELECT * FROM dbo.orders order by item_no ENDAll I get is the system genereated description, my description and no select output?Thnx |

| don't raise the error, use the return code and check it in your app and display your own error code from app----------------------------------'KH'everything that has a beginning has an end |

| I have no control over the app only what gets returned from the stored procedure. Thinking about it I only have the option to display the system generated message and my own as the app displays a windows message box with the error. BUMS! |
