ALTER COLUMN failes

Hi,

ALTER TABLE tablename ALTER COLUMN columnname NUMERIC (11,2)
gives the following (translated) error message:
object 'DF_...' depends on column columnname

I've no problem doing the same using Access.
Thanks for any hints!

The column u are trying to alter might be refered in some constraint. drop the constraint and alter.

Run
sp_pkeys 'tableName'
and
sp_fkeys 'tableName'

to see the relation of that column with other table
