                                            | I'm new to Analysis Services package in SQL2K.As data analyst I wanted to create a short presentation that explores most advantages of using Analysis Services (Cube, datamart).Questions: 1.Does this tool (Analysis Services) come with SQL2K?2. Is there any light version (or client version)of Analysis Services?3. How to start (what module I have to install , set up)Any relevant info would be really appreciated.Thank you. | |

                                          | 1. Analysis Services is included in the CD of SQL2K, but the installation is separate from SQL2K, i.e., you should run the setup program again and choose installing Analysis Services after installing your SQL2K. Also, you should apply Service pack 3 on both SQL2K and Analysis Services (the service packs come separately as well). If you dun apply SP3 on Analysis Services, there should be a lot of problems coming ...3. Just install typical components should be good enough. If you are doing a presentation, you can focus on the aggregations AS do for you. You can build a cube with 4-5 dimensions, add the drillthrough feature, etc ...Best regards, delpiero |
