| I am working in T-SQL for the first time and am in need of developing some code that will eventually run as reports on client workstations in Access. Right now I am just building the code in Query Analyzer but will probably move it to VIEWS eventually. What I am unsure of is the best way to deal with the development of CROSSTABs. Is it best to create the basic data set in SQL and then do the crosstab in ACCESS? Or, is it better to follow the Books Online example and build a temporary PIVOT TABLE in the database and use that for the Access Reports? Thanks in advance for your assistance. By the way, if any of you could recommend a really good INTRO reference book for T-SQL, I would really appreciate it. As I said, I am brand new to this, so need something really basic. Thanks again for your kind help!-Austin |

definitly Ken henderson's - The Gurus Guide To Transact SQLhmmm access has that transpose function or something... you'll probably be better off using that.if you don't want to then:http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/jeffs/archive/2005/05/02/4842.aspxGo with the flow & have fun! Else fight the flow |
