I've been here before, but never found an answer.

How can I pass a text variable to a procedure?
exec SP @var = @var1 + @var2
is not allowed.
I want to generate emails with more than 8000 characters. I've searched, prodded, probed but still no way. I'm using CDO via SP_OA extended SPs but the problem is generic - how to pass text.

Have you tried passing them over as two seperate variables and concatenating them within the procedure?

How long is the actual information you want to use for the body? And have you thought of sending most of that as an attachment.

It does appear that the extended SP has a limit of 8000

I don't think there's a limit in the extended SP. If I could pass my proc a text value it would work - I've tried it in QA.
